Chatham in Top 5 Turnout List!

November 24th, 2008 No Comments

For the first time, Chatham County appears in the list of top 5 counties for turnout in early voting for the runoff!
Well done, everyone. The GOTV effort is obviously working. Keep up the good work.
Early voting turnout is still only 23% black, so we have more work to do. If anyone has a free hour, […]

Urgent: Vote and Volunteer

November 19th, 2008 No Comments

Early voting turnout for our side is low after the first day.
Check out the early voting turnout here at the Secretary of State’s web site. Turnout needs to be over 30% African-American for us to win. At the moment, it is only 24% black. This means Democrats are not yet voting in sufficient numbers.
Please come […]

Election Day Pix

November 7th, 2008 No Comments

Photos cannot begin to describe the chaos in the office on election day. Hundreds of volunteers acted as poll watchers, drivers to fetch and carry for the party in the evening, runners to take water and snacks to polling places, phone-bankers to make sure people had voted, and sign-wavers who had half of Savannah honking […]

WELL DONE!

November 6th, 2008 No Comments

Thanks to everyone’s hard work, Chatham is now one of the bluest counties in Georgia.
I was sure that Obama would win here, but the votes for Jim Martin are even more impressive. Johnny Kerry beat George Bush by about 500 votes in 2004. In 2008, Jim Martin beat Chambliss by 13,000 votes!
As a result, […]

Anyone who can spare an hour, should come to HQ and make some GOTV phone calls. (109 Victory Drive, 660-4529).

At all hours, people are working away, making phone calls from HQ, driving people to polling places, and canvassing round the neighborhoods. You’d enjoy the atmosphere. (Also the staggering quantities of food that appear at all […]

Georgia Now a Tossup

October 29th, 2008 No Comments

Pollster.com now rates Georgia a tossup based on the fact that blacks make up 35% of early voters this year. For a Democrat to have a chance in Georgia, at least 30% of voters need to be black, meaning that only 25-30% of whites have to vote Democratic for a win. (Let’s hope all those […]
