That horrible title means that April 18 is the day to get to work downtown without your car. Time to make Savannah more people-friendly and less car-friendly. The Savannah Bicycle Campaign says:
The Parking and Mobility Task Force of the Savannah Development and Renewal Authority is promoting April 18 as Multi-Modal Transit Day, encouraging downtown workers to leave their cars at home and commute by walking, CAT, carpool, skates, or bike.
This event is the day before the Savannah Earth Day Festival with the first ever Savannah Wheelie April 19, and should also serve an excellent warm-up for Bike to Work Week May 12-16.

Update: SDRA has changed the name to Dump the Pump. There will be three events: April 18 to celebrate Earth Day, May 16 on National Bike to Work Day, and June 19 for American Public Transit Association’s National Dump the Pump day. See bicycleampaign.org for more details.
That’s more like it!
