Woo Hoo! Great news! After much thought over a long period of time, I do believe that Senator Obama has innate abilities that will allow him greater success in uniting Congress than Sen. Clinton, thus allowing us as a nation to move forward in a more progressive fashion than has been the case in the last 8 yrs. I also believe that those same thoughtful abilities will allow him greater access and respect to and from the many world leaders that our current administration has so woefully angered and disenfranchised. Thank you sincerely, Ms. Jane Kidd!

Wouldn’t it be great to again reach the point where the rest of the world didn’t despise us.

I second these emotions! I trust Obama to provide the leadership that America needs now more than I do Clinton, whom I fear would provide Republicans the lever they want to continue to divide (and conquer) the country. I also sincerely like the guy. I`d like to “have a beer with him”, and I don`t even drink beer.

In 2006 I wrote a slogan for a sign that said:

Bush/Cheney Republicans: Turning the Middle East Red, one State at a Time.

The barriers created by corruption are immense:

    - The Iraqi Invasion/War/Occupation

    - The Stripping of Iraq’s state owned assets

    - Distrust

    - Unilateral Militarism

    - Imperalistic Oppression

Barack Obama is the ONLY Presidential candidate that has the innate skill to dismantle these barriers.

Given the Middle Eastern cultural views concerning females; how would we fare with a woman President in this domain? Would the autocrats in the Middle East: Hosni Mubarak, Price Bandar, King Abdulla, P.M. Salam Fayyad respond to Hillary Clinton?

Would we advance Middle East policy further with via Barack Obama’s skill set? The Middle East is in turmoil - McCain is leaning toward war with Iran - a grave mistake.

If Americans truly care about “Homeland Security” and thwarting terrorism - we need a leader that is NOT polarizing - Hillary is just that.

Dear Seartangle - THANK YOU! So well stated! Dear Karen - YES! And Gordon? Although I don’t feel that I have to like my President, in this case I totally agree w/ you. He certainly presents himself as absolutely authentic. Very rare in today’s politics!

    Alison et al -

I wanted to clarify a typo I made - P.M. Salam Fayyad is a moderate Palestinian; working under Mahmoud Abbas. The Prime Minister has been working tirelessly to end illegal money laundering conduits, spur the Bush White House into action, and unite Palestinians.

I have been fortunate to meet some truly dedicated people via the American Task Force on Palestine. I have left many of their events with a renewed sense of hope.

I am recovering from an unexpected surgery after a fall and I wanted to edit my previous written piece to reflect that.
